I began my artistic career at age three when my father showed me how to draw with pen and ink. I painted my first oil on canvas at age eight. Two decades later I was illustrating magazines, mostly literary, and small press books. I have illustrated eight volumes of poetry most notably for Esther Leiper, the poet laureate of New Hampshire.
This escalated into a few national and international publications and by the age of thirty, I had published over 2000 drawings in more than two dozen magazines.
I have illustrated short stories by Joyce Carol Oates and Mark Helprin. In 1983 my collected drawings were published in a book; "Avante Ink."
For seven years I was a staff illustrator for Crosscurrents Magazine and a frequent contributor to Pennsylvania Magazine and The North American Review, the world's oldest continuously published magazine.
